Daily Gratitude Year 12 - Day 268: Today, I am grateful for examples of patient endurance.
This is one of those passages it is good to read in multiple translations. I really like it in the New Living Translation. We can patiently endure the difficult seasons when we put our full trust in Him.
"So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised." -Hebrews 10:35-36 (NLT)
We get into too big of a hurry. We attempt to "take the wheel," wanting to drive our own destiny. When we wait upon His divine guidance, the reward is peace. Divine peace is like no other. It cannot be rattled.
It is how Daniel slept the night away in a lion's den. It is how Moses raised his staff and the Red Seas parted. It is how three young men stood outside a fiery furnace. It is how Jesus knelt in the Garden of Gethsemane... accepting the Father's will.
Perseverance and believing in the promises of God... we are not abandoned or forgotten. He remembers his children.
Today, I am grateful for examples of patient endurance.
