Light: Sunlight and the Son's Light

Year Four-Day 262: Today, I am grateful for the sunlight and the Son's light.

This CS Lewis quote is quite enlightening.

There are times I spend looking for God's hand in the details ... and I miss seeing that He is in everything. Everything!

The sun casts light on a dark world and the Son casts his light into all of our days. The good days and the hard days.

CS Lewis was really brilliant. He could take ordinary language and illuminate some of the things of the spirit that are hard to comprehend. I am grateful for his quotes and writings.

Sometimes, I forget that significance of the sun. It lights our world and I take it for granted. I complain when it is too hot... or not hot enough. The mere existence of the sun is a game changer for life as we know it.  Our God separated the light from the dark. He gave us just the right combination of light, dark, and air to maximized the potential of our human bodies. Made in his image... yet with some specific needs. The sun is one of them... and a part of the equation.

The Son's light is what breaks into any darkness in our world. We have to answer when He knocks. We must invite Him to shine into our trials. He is present, but not pushy. He longs for us to trust his heart until we can see clearly. He longs to fill our days with His light.

"But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day." Proverbs 4:18

"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." -John 1:5

Today, I am grateful for the sunlight and the Son's light.
