All of the fairytales and movies point toward "true love." I love a good movie that requires little thought and a happy ending. We all know life is full of twists and turns and that love is not all sunshine, glitter, and rainbows.
True love is a love that is true. It stands the test of time and withstands the storms. It grows sweeter with time. It is not about me. It is not about him. It is about us.
Yes. Not simply the individual, but what we become together. We are better together.
"This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." -1 John 4:10
Our human love is a reflection of God's love for us. It is self-sacrificing as much as it is self preserving. It finds joy in the giving. Real joy.
"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." 1 Peter 4:8
Today, I am grateful for true love.
