Fearless

Daily Gratitude Year 10-Day 276: Today, I am grateful  that we can live fearlessly.

Proverbs is the result of King Solomon's relationship with the Lord. When asked what He would desire most, Solomon wanted Godly wisdom.

What an amazing request!

Solomon, fully human, was not perfect, but the Godly wisdom he was granted is partially collected in Proverbs. It is timeless. Yes, Godly wisdom does not expire. It might look a little different in practice in modern times, but truth is truth.

Godly wisdom caused Solomon to be blessed with great success. He caught the attention of many, including the Queen of Sheba.

"When the Queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon and his relationship to the Lord, she came to test Solomon with hard questions." -1 Kings 10:1

He had her attention. He answered all of her questions correctly and fearlessly. She brought a caravan full of spices, large quantities of gold, and precious stones as gifts. For at least a season, she recognized the One True God who gave Solomon his wisdom.

We, as humans, want to put our trust in our intelligence, our wealth or our experiences. A relationship with God often calls us to step outside of our comfort zone and into unchartered waters. This world can literally scream messages at us, but the "fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom."   Wisdom comes when we seek His face.

"The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe." - Proverbs 29:25

This world is full of dangers.  In this world, evil is real and present.

“There is no fear of God before their eyes.” -Romans 3:18

In this world, we can live fearlessly. Our future is not here. We are temporary travelers on our way home. We can enjoy each other and savor the sweet moments on the journey, but we are souls are only here temporarily.

Seek His wisdom. Live without fear. Celebrate the Godly wisdom found in Proverbs.

Today, I am grateful  that we can live fearlessly.
