I love how this woman, Tabitha (Dorcas), is described. In one small verse, you start to feel like you know her.
" In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good and helping the poor." -Acts 9:36
Her death sent a ripple through the faith community. Her life of service was well known. The loss was felt by the entire community.
When her heartbeat was restored, her life became a testimony to the resurrection power of the living Lord.
Not everyone gets an earthly resurrection to serve a little longer, but everyone makes their own choices about how they live with the days they are granted. Tabitha is inspiring. Wouldn't it be good to be remembered for doing good things and helping those in need?
Today, I am grateful for examples of good deeds and charity.
