Moderate Temperatures

Daily Gratitude Year 10-Day 277: Today, I am grateful for moderate temperatures.

I love the moderate temperatures in the changing seasons. There are days that go by when we need no heat and no air. No jackets necessary. These are the days of moderately, perfect temperatures.

So  many in our country and beyond the borders are suffering the impact of Hurricane  Ian. They are living without power and some of the most basic of human needs and comforts. I feel  guilty celebrating our perfect days of moderate temperatures knowing so many are facing weather related trials. Still, these days are short and fleeting,  and I don't want to miss the moment. It will quickly pass.

As much as I love the weather to be neither hot nor cold, the Bible gives strict warning to the church in Laodicea in the book of Revelation.  We are warned against attempting to live in the temperate zone in our faith walks.

"I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other!  So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked." -Revelation 3:15-17

Neither hot nor cold... and we get spit out!

Ear Worm is awake and singing the old Glad song, "Be  Ye Glad". It is a forever favorite of mine. This young artist, Chris Rupp does a great job with the song:

Be ye glad!

Good weather and bad weather are temporary. Storms will come and go, but His promises are real and true. I want to enjoy the days of moderate temperatures, but not allow them to make me complacent and lukewarm.

Today, I am grateful for moderate temperatures.
