Gratitude Year 12- Day 176: Today, I am grateful for quiet courage.
"Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying I will try again tomorrow."
Yes! Courage can be quiet. It is persistent. It does not give up. I think one of the places I have seen it most often is in the animal kingdom when a mother is protecting her young. In some species, the father is equally persistent.
A bird fallen from the nest means a mother bird is in distress.
Some of the more domesticated animals will seek human intervention for their young in trouble. Quiet courage can be fierce, even in the face of exhaustion.
We are instructed to be strong and courageous. I love the promise that follows it.
"So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” -Deuteronomy 31:6
Everyday we get to try again. It is a gift with each sunrise.
Today, I am grateful for quiet courage.
