Year 6-Day 62: Today, I am grateful we have a purpose.
Short post today. Saturday is always filled with things that don't get done during the week. Some of them don't get done on Saturday, either. It is easy to be overwhelmed when looking at "to-do" lists.
This quote is a smile in the middle of the madness of our our ordinary lives.
"She (or he) knew that she was formed by God's hands, dreamed up in His heart and placed in this world for a purpose."
Yes, we are here for so much more than filling our date books and checking off lists. We were created for a purpose. We were made for the extraordinary experience of growing a relationship with the God of the Universe. It leaves me awestruck.
When I look at the full moon in the sky, I can't help be smile knowing that the hand that set it in place, came to be with us, for us and not against us. He breathed life into dust and set the stars in place, yet has the time to hear our prayers. He ultimately took on human form to redeem us. The wonder of it all!
"Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.
Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand."-Proverbs 19:20-21
There is comfort and calm when we settle into trusting His purpose. He becomes our peace.
"He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. God has now revealed to us his mysterious will regarding Christ—which is to fulfill his own good plan. And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth." -Ephesians 1:8-10
His timing does not run on our clock. We may not always clearly see His hand in the moment, but it is there. He does not abandon his children. Today's trials and tasks are, at times, simply stepping stones. He is refining us along the way.
Today, I am grateful we have a purpose.
