Irresistibly Contagious Laughter

Daily Gratitude Year 4-Day 277: Today, I am grateful laughter is irresistibly contagious.

Isn't that true.  Nothing lowers the blood pressure and brings down a stressful situation more than laughter. The moments that go completely wrong can be re-framed and endured through laughter.

Children - as they learn their language skills- are an infinite source of laughter. Listening to a baby belly laugh is definitely contagious.

I have seen laughter erupt at what seems, inappropriate times, but it simply a way of coping. God gave us the gift of laughter. Laughter can carry us through struggles and make our celebrations sweeter.

The first mention of laughter I found was Genesis 21:6:

And Sarah said, “God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh over me.”

The discovery that you are pregnant for the first time in old age. Isaac's pregnancy and safe arrival must have been a time of wonder for Abraham and Sarah... but also a time of laughter.

"Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”"-Psalm 126:2

Laughter can be a response to overwhelming goodness or a part of expressed relief the end of a struggle.

"A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." -Proverbs 17:22

Today, I am grateful laughter is irresistibly contagious.
