Small Acts of Kindness

Daily Gratitude Year Eleven-Day 291 - Today, I am grateful for small acts of kindness.

It really is the little acts of kindness that make the biggest difference.

"I found it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay... small acts of kindness and love." -Gandolf, The Hobbit, J.R.R. Tolkien

This world is full of cruelty. I am reminded of the great value in small acts of love and kindness.

Let someone ahead of you in the grocery line who is elderly or has small children... or less items than you. Return kindness for crossness and crabbiness, because you do not know the source of someone's pain.

Leave a kind note. Send a silly meme. Send an unexpected email of encouragement. Do small things with great love.

Let the knowledge of God's great love for us cause a reflexive loving response. We cannot love bigger or better than our God, but we can try to see the world through His eyes. When we do that, we cannot help but rejoice in His big and small acts or faithfulness and love.

"I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations." -Psalm 89:1

How do we respond to His love? Pass it on.

Today, I am grateful for small acts of kindness.
