Width and the Depth

Daily Gratitude Year Eleven-Day 299 Facebook- Today, I am grateful for width and depth.

I love this quote:

"You can't do anything about the length of your life. But you can do something about its width and depth. " -Evan Esar

There is solid wisdom wrapped in that little quote. Only God knows the number of our days. We choose how we live each one of them.

People will fail us. We will fail them, too. Imperfection is an inconvenient part of being  human.

For a full life, love deeply with arms wide open.

How do we do love with a wild abandon? We invite Christ to make his home in our hearts. Then we grow deeper roots and wider shoulders, strong enough to weather hard days because in Him we find exactly what we need. He is always enough.

"Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God." - Ephesians 3:17-19

Make today count.

Today, I am grateful for width and depth.
