Our Woven Stories

Daily Gratitude Year 7- Day 347: Today, I am grateful for woven stories.

God weaves our stories. We have decision making powers... which is how things can get pretty messed up... but his is always trying to figure out how to bring about the best for us to His glory.

I love how Elizabeth's pregnancy with John the Baptist is woven into Mary's. Cousins, faithful to the Lord and they would bring forth the one who would prepare the way for the Messiah and Jesus. It is an amazing how the puzzle pieces fit together. Only God can do that.

In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David. Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!” -Luke 1:26-28

We never know when God is weaving our stories into the life of another for His glory. He longs for all to be rescued and restored, but we... like sheep... attempt to go our own way, not knowing how empty and lost we will feel without the Great Shepherd.

It is a good day to give thanks for those whose lives have intertwined with ours, to that we might know the truth, the goodness and the joy of salvation.

Today, I am grateful for woven stories.
