Daily Gratitude Year 7-Day 154: Today, I am grateful for people with character.

There is nothing more touching than seeing fellow human go out of their way to help someone in need. It is even sweeter when you realize the person being served has no way of repaying the kindness. It is amazing how one act of love or generosity can multiply. 

Abraham Lincoln said: "Character is like a tree and reputation like a shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing."

Character is reflected in the things unseen. The kindnesses no one knows about are the very things that can change a life.Love does not need to be seen to echo into eternity. 

To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.-Proverbs 21:3 

Actions speak louder than words... and even louder than a proper sacrifice.  There is wisdom in that verse. Do righteousness and act with justice. It is a different kind of sacrifice. 

But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand now what your right hand is doing,-Matthew 6:3 

There is no need for the world to keep a record. Our heavenly Father sees all. More significant is the fact that he sees our hearts, our motives and our intentions.

The world is full of the walking wounded. A little kindness can make a world of difference.
