Rooted, Grounded and Filled

Daily Gratitude Year 10- Day 157: Today, I am grateful to be "rooted, grounded and filled".

I can't seem to escape the themes from the garden lately. Those who garden know there is more to it than planting the seeds. The ground must be prepared. Water and sunlight are essential. There is a tremendous joy when new life starts to sprout from the ground. Hope grows before our eyes.

This scripture is one that is sometimes clipped, because it is so full of the good stuff. When you add the sum of all three verses I find directions for living, a reminder that faith is essential and the promise of being filled with the fullness of God. Such a promise!

"so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." -Ephesians 3:17-19

We talk about being filled with hopes and dreams. It is the season of wedding, anniversary and graduation celebrations... but to be filled with the fullness of God... what could be better?

He dwells in our hearts through faith. When we believe, we receive. It is a 'first things first" scenario. One rooted and grounded... anything can happen!

Today, I am grateful to be "rooted, grounded and filled".
