Homemade Salad Dressings

Daily Gratitude Year Eleven- Day 84: Today, I am grateful for homemade salad dressings.

We are approaching salad season. With Spring comes the reality of swiftly approaching swimsuits and cheaper produce when it is in season. Let the salads begin.

I've not tried the dressings in this image. My favorite is one we call "Groovy Green Dressing" that came from my friend, Brenda Keller, many  years ago. It is always welcome at family gatherings. And when I take meals, people often ask for the recipe. There is nothing like fresh ingredients to capture the taste buds.

In Daniel 1, Daniel asked the king if he and his friends could be tested against those who ate food from the king's rich table.

"Daniel spoke with the attendant who had been appointed by the chief of staff to look after Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. “Please test us for ten days on a diet of vegetables and water,” Daniel said. “At the end of the ten days, see how we look compared to the other young men who are eating the king’s food. Then make your decision in light of what you see.” -Daniel 1:11-13

They won the competition. They excelled and found favor with the King. God blessed them with special gifts and insights as they had honored and remained true to Him and his ways.

Salads are made of vegetables. Vegetables are good. Salads made with homemade dressings are excellent.

Today, I am grateful for homemade salad dressings.
