Perfect Symphony

Year 6-Day 9: Today, I am grateful for Ed Sheeran's song "Perfect Symphony" with Andrea Bocelli.

It arrived with a morning "hello" from an old friend.A friend from my high school days shared this song this morning. Thanks so much Quentin Johnson.

This song is sweet and romantic and timeless. What a great slow dance or first dance it would make for a young couple... and even better for that song at weddings when they start with those married less than a day and end up with couple married the longest. Romance is lovely, but long cherished and fostered love is the most beautiful work of art.

Enjoy this song in two languages. English and the language of love, Italian.

Isn't love just like that? Two people from two different families of origin with different "languages" and ways. You choose to bring them together, choosing how they will blend into something worth treasuring and keeping.

This scripture from the Song of Solomon captures that realization that someone "gets you." Someone you want to be with in laughter, adventure, tears and in silence.

"I found him whom my soul loves. I held him, and would not let him go." Song of Solomon 3:4

If you have love, treasure it. Thank God for it. Rejoice in the differences and the ways you are alike. Celebrate the ways you have held tight, pressed through hard days and come out stronger on the other side. Sometimes, I am just amazed at how much sweeter love is as it ages.

Recently, I've seen long married couples lose a spouse. It is such a deep grief, but reflects so much richness in choosing love every day.

Thanks for sharing this Quentin!  Your wife is a blessed girl.
