Tender Hearts

Year 8-Day 51: Today, I am grateful for hearts that remain tender.

This world can be an ugly place. Evil is real. Sorrow, disappointments and struggles are a part of our days here. A tender heart can get wounded. Some try to avoid the hurt and fail to open their hearts. I guess I believe that love is worth the risk.

"Have a heart that never hardens, and a temper that never tires, and a touch that never hurts." -Charles Dickens

The days Dickens lived in and wrote about were not easy times. The world could be a harsh, cold and cruel. Are things really that different today?  His encouragement to keep a tender heart reminds us that love is worth the risk.

Technology advances and the planet seems to spin a little faster, but the truth is... humans don't change that much. We are at our best when we choose love, patience and gentleness.

In the end, love is stronger than hate. Love always wins. If love hasn't won... it isn't the end.

Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.-1 Corinthians 13:13

Today, I am grateful for hearts that remain tender.
