Wounded Hearts Heal

Daily Gratitude Year 8- Day 35: Today, I am grateful wounded hearts heal.

In this month of focusing on love and valentines, it is good to remember there are broken hearts all around us. There are lonely people in crowded places and every commercial painfully points to romance until February 14th passes.

Valentines are sweet, but even sweeter is taking the time to look for those who need a little love poured out on them this season.

This passage is perfect for today:

He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. -Psalm 147:3

Bandaging the wounds and healing the brokenness is one of His specialties. David wrote of God's healing power in this Psalm. We do not need to feel alone or excluded. His love is enough.

In the lonely seasons, we learn to trust his heart. It doesn't always make sense, but time reveals His plan was better all along. He never stops longing for us to return to Him with our broken hearts in hand. He understands the wounds of love rejected. He only has to look at his nail-scarred hands. We can trust him with our brokenness, too.

Today, I am grateful wounded hearts heal.
