The Power That Saves

Year 8-Day 55: Today, I am grateful for the power that saves.

We all have moments when we need a rescue.

My heart always to my stomach when I see emergency vehicles. I try to pray for whoever in the vehicles is "having a bad day." In time, help will arrive and hope is restored.

A quick slam on the brakes and our seat-belt acts as a rescuer. Even when we set out with great caution, things can still happen. We are grateful for shields and the power that saves.

Another example comes from the dentist office when a vest is worn to protect us from radiation. Police wear vests that protect them from bullets.

This Psalm reminds us that we have a God who acts as our shield and protector. He is the power that saves.

"I love you, Lord; you are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety." -Psalm 18:2

We don't have to fret. We simply need to trust in The One who saves.

Today, I am grateful for the power that saves.
