When the kids were little, my Jill and I would try to make plans. We quickly learned that with four boys, two husbands, extended families, jobs and dogs... the best laid plans were often made only to be undone because something came up that took priority. We intentionally kept most of our plans tentative because "life always happens when you are making plans".
One of the things I know to be true is that "His ways are not our ways". We can make the plans but our God will determine our path. We must learn to be patient and pay attention to detail.
The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me. -Psalm 138:8
We are loved and not abandoned.
Today, I am grateful for a plan.
