I loved this image. A beach looks so good when it is freezing outside. The scripture on the Pinterest found image is from "The Message". Here it is in the NLT translation:
"You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope." -Psalm 119:114
Where do we go when we need a quiet place to rest? We can't always go to the beach, but we can always go to our Lord. He longs to be our shelter and our hiding place. He eagerly waits for us to open His word to find hope and help.
Sometimes, we need to retreat into a place of solitude for communion with Him. The world's demands are constant. It is hard to take a deep breath when the plate gets too full and the "to do" list grows too long. Still, He longs for us to make Him our quiet retreat for refreshing.
Do we take advantage of the respite found between the pages of our Bibles? It can help us clear our minds and recharge our souls. There is nothing boring about it when you consider it a love story between a God who would not give up on us. Even when we broke His heart.
He made a way for us to return to fellowship with Him. Do we answer His call? Do we find our place of quiet rest?
Today, I am grateful for a place of quiet retreat.
