Daily Gratitude Year 10 - Day 19: Today, I am grateful for a warm place to sleep.
It is 7 degrees outside, but it feels like -7. Wickedly cold! Any way you slice it, the outdoors are a dangerous place to be.
I can't help but think of how many people lack a place to sleep in comfort. Homelessness is real. For many, their lives have been shattered in many different ways before they find themselves without a home to call their own.
In the winter, without shelter the threat of death is real. I am grateful for the local agencies who act as Christ's hands and feet to those without a bed to call their own. Serving the "least of these" is following His instructions as to how we should treat others.
“Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets. -Matthew 7:12
It is the essence of all that is taught in the law and from the prophets. The ability to see a need and meet it is something to celebrate.
If you don't have to think twice about a safe and cozy bed, you have much to be thankful for today.
Today, I am grateful for a warm place to sleep.
