An Audience of One

Daily Gratitude Year Six-Day 337: Today, I am grateful for an audience of One.

To clarify the One... the three in One... Father, Son and Spirit. I love this quote:

"People are not your audience, God is." -Lisa Bevere, Girls With Swords

Most of us spend more time than we like to admit worrying about what other people think. Honestly, because of the heightened relationship design feature in females, I think it is even harder for us. What we "do" is not "who" we are. Each one of us... male and female... were created in His image.

We were created for a relationship with God. We were given each other for fellowship, company and help on the journey. The soul feature in humans is a mystery to science but science doesn't deny it. Our souls long for fellowship with God. When we invite him into our daily lives and walk with him, there is a peace that the world will never be able to explain. When our eternal souls recognize God ... the Father, the Son and the Spirit... as God, everything changes.

The exchange rate between time and money changes, too. As we grow in love, we realize that the time we spend loving people is always time well spent. When we stop trying to impress people and simply focus on pleasing our Lord, there is a burden lifted and a new found freedom.

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.-Philippians 4:13

"All things" includes hard things, boring things, dirty jobs, being patient with those who drive us crazy, being generous with time and resources, doing monotonous tasks with our whole hearts and everything else under the sun.  All things are done are for our audience of One.

Don't get tangled in the web of deception. Our God sees each of us as precious treasures. Jesus died for all, but he would have died for one. The Spirit is present and active in the littlest details of our daily lives. God doesn't just see our choices... He knows our hearts. It is a reason to celebrate... and be terrified... all at the same time.

Do we spend much time thinking about the omnipresent nature of God? Always present, watching and waiting for us to seek His face for guidance, companionship and grace. He is always with us. He longs for us to be fearless in the face of that simple truth. He is always with us.

Everything changes when we truly focus on pleasing Him... and not the world. Our actions reflect our hearts. When we act in love... toward others... because it pleases Him... we have hit our target audience.

Today, I am grateful for an audience of One.
