Daily Gratitude Year 7 - Day 66: Today, I am grateful we are born for a purpose.
Do you ever wake up and wonder what you were born to do? What is it that fills your heart with such purpose that you forget there is work involved?
These are the things you are likely to do with excellence. When our focus is filled with purpose, we do not have time to wonder what other people think. There is a mission burning in our soul and we have to answer the call.
If our lives are filled with purpose, we won't be distracted looking for everyone's approval. -Bob Goff
Joan of Arc... she was just a girl when she led her people... said this when asked if she was afraid of what was ahead. She gave this quote that has been a long time favorite of mine:
"If you come from God, I do not fear you … if you come from the Devil, I fear you even less!" -Joan of Arc
What courageous and wise words from a teenager! What empowering words for all of us? If God is for me...and I am for him...anything this day brings can be faced without fear. As the song says, "Fear is a liar!" In Christ we find truth, direction and strength to face this day. We were born for a purpose. Each one of us is treasured by God and uniquely fashioned for our work for the kingdom of God.
How do we face the day? It is good to focus on the fruits that reminds us that His Spirit is with us and in us. It gives us courage and strength for this day.
"But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!" -Galatians 5:22-23
We can use the tools the Spirit produces in our lives to make a difference. At the end of our days, we are not remembered for our collection of toys and things. People remember our love.
Today, I am grateful we are born for a purpose.
