Daily Gratitude Year 7 - Day 60: Today, I am grateful we can make honest things.
We can make an honest day's work into an spiritual offering. We can make a sad moment softer with a hug or word of encouragement. We can make a sincere effort to tidy the house or clean out a closet.
We can be present in this moment and not lose focus of who we are becoming. We are all works in progress. In God's eyes, we are all works of art. Unfinished, but beautiful in the becoming.
"This is the season she will make beautiful things. No perfect things but honest things that speak to who she is and who she is called to be." -Morgan Harper Nichols
Breathe in. Exhale. Savor. Live with a burning desire to embrace this day with honest courage. One day at a time. Two is too many.
Clothes, sparkle, shoes and makeup are fun, but they can become camouflage. We don't want to miss the true beauty we were designed to find.
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.-1 Peter 3:3-4
Today, we can seek real beauty that does not fade. We can grow more gentle and nurture the quiet in our spirit. It is not always easy. It is always honest and beautiful.
Today, I am grateful we can make honest things.
