Her accomplishments are many. Her generous heart always put her younger siblings first... and she was the oldest of 10. She taught many to play accordion, piano, organ and even some guitar. She could play almost anything by ear if she had a minute to figure it out. She loved teaching music, cooking skills and Sunday School lessons. She loves being a mother, as sister and an aunt.
Mama was a city girl who chose the life of a farm wife when she married my Dad... and she embraced it whole heartedly. Today, she still wants to be up at 5am. "I'm a farm wife. Up at 5 o'clock.", she proudly states. Today, we celebrated her birthday. Last year, we could not see her on her birthday. This year... she celebrates in her new home. (Thank you Walker and Abigail.)
Her gentle heart is tender. She loves with her whole heart. She delights in having gray hair.
"Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained by living a godly life." -Proverbs 16:31
Watching "Little House On the Prairie" and "John Wayne" movies fills a part of every day. On good days, she is quite witty. Her daily Bible devotions are a highlight of her day, along with chocolate breaks at regular intervals. She loves the fur babies and they provide her with constant companionship.
She teaches us how to live with joy by example. Huntington's disease may wreck her earthly body, but her spirit and soul are strong. We are so grateful we could celebrate this birthday with her.
Today, I am grateful for Mama Ina Mae.
