First Things First

Daily Gratitude Year 9-Day 135: Today, I am grateful for first things first.

"We can put God first by giving Him the first moments of the day." - Lysa Terkeurst

Mama Ina Mae preached "First things first." We heard it all the time. When prioritizing any situation, we learned to assess and decide which things needed to happen first. It was good advice. I was wisdom for living.

Plan the day. Do what must be done. Recognize some things are God appointments and outside of our plan.

This is the perfect scripture for first things first:

"Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.  A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself." -Matthew 22:37-39

We can make plans, but we are to let God guide our days. We can count the hours, but our God knows the number of our days.

Today, I am grateful for first things first.
