Daily Gratitude Year 9-Day 140: Today, I am grateful for ingredient lists.
We all use ingredient lists if we cook or bake. I am reminded when I grab any bag at the grocery store of the ingredients list on the back. When we try to make healthier choices, we can begin by looking at the ingredients list.
Over the past years, I've been better about paying attention to the labels. I think it matters to our overall health. I did the whole 30 diet for a month and it is true, you feel better and weight loss follows.
Why don't more people do it? It's hard. Eating out becomes very difficult. When fruits and veggies are out of season, the cost rises. And... some of the junk we've become accustomed to tastes really good. It is a good choice but not an easy choice.
Today, I am keeping it simple... what other ingredient lists came to mind? The Bible is full of lists. This is one of my favorites:
"Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love." -1 Corinthians 13:13
These are the things that last forever... faith, hope and love. We can survive much when we pack these in our life suitcase.
In the movie "Zombieland"... the Hostess Twinkie was that elusive item that seemed to last forever. Others might argue it is Velveeta "Cheese". I am pretty sure that 7th grade school picture might make the list, too. Once again, the Bible gets it right.
Today, I am grateful for ingredient lists.
