Daily Gratitude Year 7-Day 301: Today, I am grateful for the ordinary arts we practice every day.
Simple acts of kindness are more valuable than they appear on the surface.
"The ordinary arts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest." -Thomas Moore
The tiniest acts of kindness can echo into eternity. People often underestimate the impact of a kind word or a little encouragement. People remember how you made them feel.
One of the New Testament resurrections was a woman named, Tabitha. She was always doing kind things for others. Her death was a loss to the community. Many grieved... but then she received a healing... a resurrection. She would live to continue her daily walk of living in love. Her ordinary acts made her stand out.
"There was a believer in Joppa named Tabitha (which in Greek is Dorcas). She was always doing kind things for others and helping the poor." -Acts 9:36
Acting in love and kindness was who Tabitha was. It wasn't an act but a lifestyle. How do we grow these every day skills? One day at a time. Practicing hospitality and serving others will create change.
Today, I am grateful for the ordinary arts we can practice every day.
