Year 6-Day 286: Today, I am grateful for sacred moments.
When we hear the word "sacred" we automatically think of ceremonies and rituals that are faith and worship related. Our minds connect them to church buildings.
Ryan Leander sent me this picture, knowing I would love it. What an amazing shot! The colors are spectacular. It reminded me of the sacred moments that happen beyond the walls of a house of worship.
And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years," -Genesis 1:14 (NIV)
The NIV translations uses the phrase "to mark sacred times, and days and years". There are holy moments in every day we seek his face. Sunrise, sunset, a loved one's kiss, first breath at birth, last breath at death and new marriage... each one puts us face to face with a very real God.
This picture is a simple reminder of the grandeur of his majesty. Savor each sunrise and each sunset. Each one is a reminder of his goodness and grace to us.
Today, I am grateful for sacred moments.
