Year 6-Day 281: Today, I am grateful for helpful warnings.
Some warnings are silly. Wet floors... do they have to say "be careful"? "Do not remove this tag." on a pillow or mattress is another one that seems funny to me.
There are other sincere warnings that we should heed. Speed limits on curving exit ramps should be observed with caution. Poison warnings are very helpful at times. They remind us to be intentionally careful.
I loved this quote:
"Be careful how you make sense of your life. What looks like a disaster may, in fact, be grace. What looks like the end may be the beginning. What looks hopeless may be God's instrument to give you real and lasting hope. Your father is committed to taking what seems so bad and turning it into something that is very, very good."-Paul Tripp
What a beautiful instruction! We can cling to the knowledge that he works things out to His glory and for our good.
"And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the first born among many brothers and sisters." -Romans 8:27-29
We are God's kids. We are called to a purpose and His plan is good. There may be struggles but they are temporary. His goodness and faithfulness is forever. The trials of this day are not forever. His mercy and grace are for always.
We can press on. We can do hard things. We can trust his heart and his timing.
Today, I am grateful for helpful warnings.
