Year 6-Day 291: Today, I am grateful for new eyes on familiar passages... waiting is brave.
"Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord." -Psalm 27:13-14
How do we see the goodness of the Lord? We learn to wait patiently. Waiting shows strength and courage.
Why has it never seemed this simple? Isn't it true. To trust and obey as we wait on God's hand is tough for independent souls who want to help or direct God in our ways, instead of letting Him be God and lead.
After the wait, we have to find the courage to walk the path that has been cleared by his hand. Sometimes it is exciting. Other times, terrifying. It is a good thing he promised to be for us and with us... forever.
"But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world."-1 John 4:4
We can remain confident of His goodness in the waiting places. Waiting builds our courage and strength. Waiting is brave. It is not lost time, it is learning time. It is a time of conditioning to build strength.
Today, I am grateful for new eyes on familiar passages. Yes, waiting is brave.
