Daily Gratitude Year Six-Day 322: Today, I am grateful thorn bushes have roses.
If you can't change a situation, reframe it in you head. This timeless quote from Abraham Lincoln does that very thing.
"We can complain because rose bushes have thorns or we can rejoice because thorn bushes have roses." -Abraham Lincoln
I know it is not "rose season". Still, the message in this little quote is powerful. The pressures of the holiday season are upon us. Are we caught up in the thorns or rejoicing over the roses?
Choosing our attitudes make a difference.
For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you, too. So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.-Romans 14:17-19
Focus on the good. Celebrate the blessings. Lift each other up. Don't sweat the small stuff. Look for the roses in the thorns.
Today, I am grateful thorn bushes have roses.
