Daily Gratitude Year 7-Day 209: Today, I am grateful we can be strange.
"Be strange. Someone out there loves the person you hide." - unknown
Don't you just love it? It is true. The people that "get us" are so special and dear, but we hide from them trying to act like everyone else.
Be silly.
Laugh hard.
Make wishes on dandelion puffs.
Drink coffee any time... any where.
Smell the clean laundry.
Wrap yourself in the crisp, clean sheets.
Wear sandals until it snows.
Eat ice cream for breakfast.
Remember The Doors song "Strange". (Earworm just started singing it.) Embrace it, baby!
Strange is not an easy definition. It is defined by culture, values, sense of morality and experiences. When we seek Christ's face, we are often considered "strange".
So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,-Ephesians 2:19
We need to remember that we are not here to blend in with the world... as our citizenship now rests in heaven. We are here to lend a hand, light the way, share with those in need and to tell the Good News. Do not worry if people think you are strange.
Today, I am grateful we can be strange.
