Daily Gratitude Year 7-Day 188: Today, I am grateful for a God who does not change.
In Micah 3:6, we see a snapshot of God's grace long before the New Testament covenant is in place. God's continued love, even when disappointed and angry with Israel, never waivered. He made a promise to Abraham and he kept it.
“I am the Lord, and I do not change. That is why you descendants of Jacob are not already destroyed. -Micah 3:6
We change our minds all the time as humans. Fashion is a constantly changing and fickle industry. What is in today is out tomorrow. Staying in style "on trend" can be exhausting. It is sweet to arrive at a place in life where you care less about these things and more about what is comfortable and practical. Even in fashion... the little black dress is always a solid fashion choice. It is why it is a key piece (or something like it) for those who do a "Capsule Wardrobe".
The times are always changing, but not our God. I can change my wardrobe choice three times before leaving the house.
Our God is the same yesterday, today and forever.
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." -Hebrews 13:8
Oh, there is comfort in that truth. We don't have to wait for Him to be in a good mood. He is who he is. His consistency lets us know we can live without fear and with hope.
Today, I am grateful for a God who does not change.
