The Cardinal's Song

Daily Gratitude Year 7-Day 191: Today, I am grateful for the cardinal's song.

It is one of my favorite bird songs in the trees. It is distinct and beautiful. It is usually a male showing off, imagine that! Probably trying to impress a lady cardinal.

Psalm 147 is a favorite. It hits so many sweet notes. The healing of the brokenhearted and the numbered stars mean our God pays attention to the details in our lives.

His understanding is beyond measure and this power is abundant. Spoiler alert: In the end... God wins!

Today is a perfect day to sing him a new song of praise. We can thank him for something we have never said "Thank you" for in the past.

Praise the Lord!
For it is good to sing praises to our God;
    for it is pleasant,and a song of praise is fitting.
The Lord builds up Jerusalem;
    he gathers the outcasts of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted
    and binds up their wounds.
He determines the number of the stars;
    he gives to all of them their names.
Great is our Lord, and abundant in power;
    his understanding is beyond measure.
The Lord lifts up the humble;
    he casts the wicked to the ground.
Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving;
-Psalm 147:1-7a

He is mighty and worthy of endless praise. If we forget to sing out to Him, the birds fill in the silence.

Today, I am grateful for the cardinal's song
