Daily Gratitude Year 10 - Day 95 : Today, I am grateful for the leap of faith.
"Sometimes, the only available transportation is a leap of faith." -Margaret Shepard
We don't really understand the leap of faith until we jump. I was never one who loved the high dive. My heart would race and I would take my leap feet first. As I've stated many times, I am a safety girl.
Still, some of the most powerful, meaningful moments in life come with no dress rehearsal. They are a result of a leap of faith... diving in throwing caution to the wind.
Luke 9:57-62 captures conversations when Jesus was calling disciples to follow him in faith. Some drop everything and go. Others want to tend to business first. The scripture is clear as to which one is more useful to the Kingdom. Not the one headed home to take care of home business first.
"He said to another person, “Come, follow me.” -Luke 9:59
I fear I would be the one trying to get home in order first. It is so easy to slip into the routine of being busy. Yet, I know, there is more life and more love in simply looking for a need and responding.
Taking the leap of faith to be His hands and His feet in this fallen, messed up world often lands us in fields of joy. His joy is on the other side of that leap of faith.
Today, I am grateful for the leap of faith.
