Year 8-Day 232: Today, I am grateful for the art smart heart.
"Art has the role in education of helping children become like themselves instead of more like everyone else." -unknown
I don't know who said it, but I completely agree. Art pours color, joy and wonder into what might otherwise be ordinary lives. Not all art is created with a paint brush or a drawing pencil, but all of us need the exercise of creative moments. Creativity lightens our souls and brightens our days.
In ancient times, there were craftsmen and crafty women who created woven, died fabrics, sewed garment by hand and wrote music. Art is not new. It has lasted through the centuries. Art treasures increase in value. They are often hidden at times of war. Most societies recognize their worth and try to hide and protect them in turbulent times.
This scripture spoke to me today:
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." -Ephesians 2:10
We are His workmanship. Pretty amazing, right? He has prepared us for doing good work in Him as we journey through life. In that knowledge, we can find the freedom to create... and more importantly... to boldly let Him create in us a new creation.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." -2 Corinthians 5:17
That is true creative freedom.
Today, I am grateful for the art smart heart.
