Year 9- Day 75: Today, I am grateful God is near.
"Don't equate the presence of God with a good mood or a pleasant temperament. God is near whether you are happy or not." -Max Lucado
The song "Taps" always chokes me up. Is is played at military funerals. The last line is "Safely rest Safely rest. God is nigh." At those somber moments of life, there is comfort in knowing God is near. How quickly we forget that he is always near.
Jesus spoke these words:
"Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” -Matthew 28:20
Comfort and joy are wrapped in the knowledge. "I am with you always." It is who he is because He loves us. He is our comfort and the source of our joy.
Today, I am grateful God is near.
