The Patient Ones

Year 9- Day 74:  Today, I am grateful for the patient ones.

Some people are more patient than others. For some, it comes naturally. For others, it is the Fruit of the Spirit in their lives. For a select few, it is embraced and practiced like an art. Patience is beautiful.

Patience is important in many areas of our lives. We have to be patient waiting for the ground to warm for planting (love you Matthew). We have to be patient waiting for a pot to boil... and we all know watching it does not make it boil any faster. We have to be patient when making caramels to get them just right. (I am a failure at caramel making).

Patience is a virtue. Patience infused into a volatile situation can calm the waters.

"A hot-tempered person starts fights; a cool-tempered person stops them." -Proverbs 15:18

I find there is a close relationship between being well rested and the ability to be patient. A good night's sleep helps us stretch when we need to stretch. Adequate sleep lengthens our fuse.

When I look around, the people who exhibit patience draw us into their circles. They fill us with warmth. They are good for our souls.

Today, I am grateful for the patient ones.
