Into every life there are seasons of sorrow and seasons of joy. Sometimes, the two intertwine in the oddest ways.
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning." -Psalm 30:5
This passage reminds us that God's displeasure with our behaviors at times is very real. We can't wish away his rules or set them aside when it is convenient. His ways are his ways. Period. Still, he loves his children and longs to be in a relationship with us. He waits for our return. He is only a whispered prayer away.
Life can be complicated and messy. There is a rich blessing in getting to start fresh with each sunrise. He is there, at daybreak. He is there at noon, too. He is God of evening and the night. He is God of the full moon. At every hour of the day and in every season, we can find a reset with the first light of dawn.
Today, I am grateful that joy comes in the morning.
