There is something special about a clean slate. A blank page with no imperfections recorded makes us feel renewed. Life is complicated. What should be easy and makes perfect sense can get muddied by unexpected twists and turns in the road.
Humans have long understood the beauty of a new start. Many have changed continents to find one. Some learned new lifestyles and languages to flee from less than stellar pasts.
This image made me giggle. Our past can be costly.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." - 2 Corinthians 5:17
New life. New beginnings. We can begin to rewrite our story. There is power in the blood that becomes the ink with which our story begins again.
Today, I am grateful for a clean slate.
