Humans can be so selfish. We want what we want.
Perhaps, the ability to lay down our own will at the foot of the cross really begins when we recognize the Babe in the manger as The One who changes everything. No bargaining. No attempt to be in charge. Simply surrender, and in that surrender there is a peace like nothing this world has to offer.
Faith Hill sings the Christmas song, "A Baby Changes Everything." It is one of my favorites.
"And he will be our peace..."- Micah 5:5
When He becomes our peace and our purpose, "surely goodness and mercy follow us all the days of our lives." This world is not always good, but He is. He is the promise fulfilled, our purpose and our peace.
Today, I am grateful for "our peace."
