Imagination is the Ticket

Daily Gratitude Year 10- Day 142: Today, I am grateful imagination is the ticket.

It is always a joy to watch children playing. Their imaginations are free and wild. They can turn cardboard boxes into spaceships, swimming pools become oceans and bath towels become superhero capes. Simply add imagination.

Albert Einstein said:

"Logic will get you from A to B, imagination will take you everywhere." -Albert Einstein

Einstein was a scientist and articulate with his words. He would look at problems from many different angles. He did not assume there was only one way of solving a problem. He didn't quit the first time he failed.

Logic is a great tool. Solving problems logically can be energizing. There are times, logic and common sense, seem rare. But, it is imagination that frees us in a unique way. Doesn't going everywhere sound like a grand adventure?

The Bible tells us:

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love him.” -1 Corinthians 2:9

Such a great verse! We cannot even begin to imagine what God has prepared for those who choose him, love him and seek his face. We can't even imagine it.

 Jesus said this:

"Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them. Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven." -Matthew 18:2- 4

Children are special. Jesus points out their value. He calls out the beauty of a humble spirit. He acknowledges children in their ability to recognize truth and to love powerfully, even when love is not reciprocated. "We must become like little children..."

Jesus walked this earth counter culture.

If we are following the culture, we might be going the wrong way. God created us in His image. In his image, we were granted the power to imagine. What we do with our gift of imagination reflects who we choose to serve.

Today, I am grateful imagination is the ticket.
