To hit any target, you have to aim well. Patience, practice and precision build the skill. When the time is right, it looks flawless and effortless... a little like breathing.
There are times there are no words of explanation. There are times nothing seems to be good and right. There is a deep truth, in the most broken moments, we become very aware our God is a refuge and our strength.
It is balm to the soul to be reminded that this world is not our home. It is where we make our way to the cross and find His hope and healing. Our aim is not an earthly address.
"So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while." -1 Peter 1:6
There are trials that are short lived. Some seem to go on forever. Some we can anticipate and others are unexpected. It is good to remember our aim is heaven. Aim sharp. Breathe deep. Love well. Death is a door, not a destination.
Today, I am grateful for good aim.
