Daily Gratitude Year 9 - Day 278: Today, I am grateful for scattered seeds.
Nature reflects the image of God. One of the great wonders in nature is how what appears to be an ending is really a new beginning. Ask the caterpillar nestled in a dark cocoon if he believes in what comes next. What would the answer be?
At the end of a growing season, nature amazes me with its power to reseed and bring new life. Season after season, seeds are spilled where they rest in the dirt all winter long. Then, the spring rains come and the sun's warmth brings new life. Scattered seeds lead to new life.
"The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good." -Genesis 1:12
Yes, it is good. Nature's glory has humble, simple beginnings.
Today, I am grateful for scattered seeds.
