Daily Gratitude Year 9 - Day 283: Today, I am grateful for a reminder to keep the blame where it belongs.
There are times we need straight up front and honest reminders. This Proverb frames the truth:
"People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the Lord." -Proverbs 19:3
The blame game is so easy. We jump on the complain train and forget to own our mistakes and missteps. They may even be times when we point the finger and blame God. We forget that choice is the super power God gave humans. We can act by choice and over-ride what seems to be a natural response.
We can choose to be calm, when we want to scream. We can choose kindness, when we want to be condemning. We can choose to act and not react.
We can choose Jesus, when the world points us in a different, self seeking direction.
There will be times we mess up. By His grace, our failures and falls are covered. We only need to seek, ask and receive the forgiveness He offers.
Today, I am grateful for a reminder to keep the blame where it belongs.
